Taxes
As American citizens, it's important for us to fulfill our duty by paying taxes based on how much money we make each year.
If you're under 19 or under 24 and a full-time student, your parent/guardian can file your taxes for you. Instead of doing everything on paper, nowadays most people file their taxes online. This is called "e-filing." It's easier and more convenient.
There are websites like TaxSlayer or TurboTax that help you file your taxes online. They make the process smoother and more user-friendly.
Tax season starts at the end of January and ends around mid-April. That's when most people are busy preparing and filing their taxes.
If you need more time to file your taxes, you can ask for an extension. It gives you extra time, but you have to request it before the usual deadline.
When you file your tax return and you've paid too much in taxes, the government gives you a refund. If you e-file, you usually get your refund within about three weeks. If you mail your tax return, it may take longer to process and get your refund.
